A Bunk House Boutique Built on Adventure

The story behind how we came to be The Kamp Store... A Bunk House Boutique!

What started as a small social retail business quickly turned into something much bigger than we ever imagined. Not long after beginning this journey, I took a leap of faith and quit my 9–5. It was terrifying, exciting, freeing… and honestly a little crazy 😂So naturally, we did what any logical adults would do: we bought a travel trailer.

We named her Ethel. (Yes… we name our vehicles.)

Soon after, we packed up our inventory, our pup Tashie, loaded everything into our van Stanley (yep, we named him too 😂) and hit the road to chase the cross-country adventure we had always dreamed about.

From Pennsylvania to California and back again, we followed our happy — meeting amazing people, hosting pop-ups and making memories along the way.

 

The Inspiration Behind “The Kamp Store”

One of our favorite things during our travels was visiting little local camp stores.

Every stop felt like a treasure hunt:
a fun snack, a quirky souvenir, a cozy find or something useful for the camper.

No matter where we were, those little shops somehow always felt like home.

With the last name Hazekamp, creating “The Kamp Store” felt like the perfect fit ✨

And before long, our amazing shoppers became known as the “Happy Kampers.”

 

Life Lately at Camp

And all these years and many miles later, so much has changed.  These days, home base is sunny Florida 🌴

We said goodbye to our sticks-and-bricks life, changed our RV setup and sadly lost our sweet Tashie — who will forever live on in our hearts and as the inspiration behind the pup in our logo 💛 

Now our adventures include two new rescue pups, Daphne & Loxley, who have fully embraced camp life right alongside us 😂 

While life these days looks a little more stationary than our full-time travel years,  adventure still doesn’t sit too far from our hearts. So naturally… we bought another little camper to keep exploring whenever we can ⛺✨ And one thing that certainly remains, we still love to visit each and every Camp Store! 

Because at the end of the day, The Kamp Store has always been about more than just shopping. It’s about following your happy, finding joy in the little things and creating a cozy life filled with everyday adventures.

Today, The Kamp Store is still tucked away inside the bunkhouse of our home on wheels — a curated collection of comfy style, fun finds and everyday goodies designed to spark your inner Happy Kamper ✨
