The story behind how we came to be The Kamp Store... A Bunk House Boutique!

When we started this journey as social retailers, I honestly didn’t know where the road would take us. But not too long after, on a whim, I quit my 9-5. It was beyond scary but completely liberating! Hubby and I decided to completely embrace this new freedom and business that could legit go anywhere. So we did what any logical adults would do ;) We bought a cute little travel trailer, who we named Ethel (anyone else name their vehicles?) and planned the cross country trip we always dreamed of.

We loaded up all our inventory into the back of our Van Stanley (yep we named him too) packed up our old lady dog Tasha, said goodbye to our families and the only home we had ever known and off we went! We cruised from Pennsylvania to Cali then back again! Following our happy, Making new friends and doing pop-ups along the way!

One of our absolute favorite things to do each stop we made was check out the local “camp store”. It was like a treasure hunt each and every time. We’d usually grab a magnet as a souvenir, a snack (man we love our snacks) or maybe something that we needed for the camper! In a strange way it was like no matter where we were, each little shop we visited felt like home.

With the last name of Hazekamp... it was a natural fit!! And that my friends is when “The Kamp Store” was born! We even adoringly coined our amazing friends and shoppers the “Happy Kampers”!

And all these years and many miles later, so much has changed. We said goodbye to our sticks & bricks, changed our rig setup, lost Tashie (she will forever live on in our hearts and on our logo) & adopted two more crazy pups. Yet some things have remained the same. We still love to visit each and every Camp Store & have even created our own! 

That's right, this little shop is tucked away in the back bunk of our home on wheels! An ever changing, uniquely quirky & curated collection of goodies! We hope to become a favorite place for you to "visit"! A place where you can find your inner Happy Kamper!
